Art has been such a gift to me. It is a place I can go when I need to release my mind and centre myself. I am not always successful, but most often I find the calm that I am looking for. I am so grateful for the opportunity to express myself artistically and to share it with others. It is my hope that people feel a connection with my work and the pieces they take home.
The Stone
I am always amazed and delighted in the colours and patterns that are revealed in the finishing process. Most of the soapstone I use is Brazilian, but we are able to source stone from other parts of the world as well. Recently I started working with composite soapstone.
Stone Shaper Studios
I am greatly privileged to work with two other amazing artists, Shauna Vollmer and Barry Kostiuk. Together we provide each other with encouragement, support, advice and friendship. Each of us has a unique style, and it is always interesting to see what new direction we explore. It is my honour to work collaboratively with these two.
